Consultative Meetings on Women National Business Agenda

In collaboration with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), CIPE Pakistan conducted three Women National Business Agenda (WNBA) consultative meetings with representatives of women chambers, think tanks and public sector officials in Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad. WNBA is an initiative of FPCCI, whereas, CIPE Pakistan facilitating the process as a technical partner. The purpose of the WNBA is to enhance the women participation in democratic process. Upon finalization of the WNBA document, FPCCI will advocate for inclusion of the women focused economic reforms in political parties platforms.

In September, collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FPCCI), first consultative meeting for the development of WNBA was organized by Masooma Sibtain, Vice President FPCCI in Lahore. FPCCI leadership showed deep interest in the event which was attended by thirty-two participants, including representatives from Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan etc. The event was covered by 26 local language newspapers. In the discussion, participants agreed to focus on four key policies that are: SME Policy, Trade Development Authority Policy, State Bank’s Export Credit Guarantee, Trade Policy Framework.

 

In October, FPCCI under the leadership of Masooma Sibtain, Vice President organize the second consultative meeting for the development of a Women National Business Agenda (WNBA). Forty women entrepreneurs, including chairpersons of various FPCCI committees, representatives from State Bank of Pakistan, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan participated in the meeting to discuss the four key priority areas women focused policy reforms.  Media mention : https://dailytimes.com.pk/126245/fpcci-extends-support-wnba/

 

In October Masooma Sibtain, Vice President of FPCCI organized the third consultative meeting for the development of a Women National Business Agenda (WNBA) in Quetta. Earlier meetings were held in Karachi and Lahore. More than thirty women entrepreneurs, leadership of Quetta based business associations and chambers, representatives from Baluchistan Government, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, First Women Bank participated in the meeting to discuss the four key priority areas women focused policy reforms.
