On 5th May, 2016, PRIME’s Executive Director Ali Salman conducted a training of the Advocacy Committee of Lahore Chamber of Commerce.

The purpose of this training was to familiarize the members and staff of LCCI on the process, methodology and tools for effective public policy advocacy. The trainer used examples of advocacy campaigns run by PRIME Institute and different chambers while highlighting platform scorecard project.

The training session led to brainstorming on policy issues identified by the participants. After some deliberation, the participants selected the issue of “clean title of property” as a topic/issue. The participants were of the view that due to complex and archaic land records, it is very difficult for the firms and entrepreneurs to acquire larger pieces of land for industrial usage. The participants and the Advocacy Committee of Lahore Chamber agreed to follow up on this issue with the city administration and provincial government.

The President and Senior Vice President of Lahore Chamber, Convener of Policy Advocacy Committee, and 12 members participated in the session.
